Content of minerals and nutrients

Unlike other stodgy nuts, pistachios are fine, have an ideal composition and fresh delicious taste. You will recognise them immediately for their typical taste which is an excellent complement to each dish.

Until recently the majority of people were of the opinion that nuts cause weight gain. Pistachio nuts are filling but not fatty. To contain a large amount of fat is not the same as being fatty. There is no proof that consumption of nuts may result in weight gain if you eat them in moderate quantities, on the contrary they are very suitable e.g. during diets when you check the number of calories, and as they are filling, they satisfy hunger rather quickly and have few calories at the same time. The fact is that if you consume nuts, overeating is highly unlikely as even a small amount fills you up sufficiently.

Pistachios are an entirely natural and healthy snack and are also used as excellent ingredients in various meals and desserts. They are a large source of energy, contain potassium, proteins, vitamins, minerals of phosphorus, calcium and all essential amino-acids.

It is generally known that consumption of pistachios reduces the risk of heart diseases and heart attacks. Pistachios have many kinds and forms of processing. They may be eaten salted, roasted, lemon-flavoured, or seasoned – with garlic or chilli, as well as raw.

Although nuts contain twice as much fat as animal products on average, the types of fats are rather different. Pistachios have a higher percentage of unsaturated fats which are as good as the antioxidant vitamin E and diet nutrients that help reduce the content of cholesterol and also reduce the risk of intestinal cancer.
